Hello, and welcome to Addicted to Sleep!

This site is aimed at those who suffer with chronic fatigue. You may have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/C.F.S., M.E. or another illness for which fatigue is a major and debilitating symptom. You also may not have a diagnosis yet, but may have had numerous tests and had many of the usual culprits ruled out.

For the purpose of brevity I have referred to this group of people as ‘people with fatigue’ or PWF for short.

I have written this site using my experience as someone who has suffered from debilitating fatigue for many years, and everything contained within it is my opinion. Certain subjects, however, are backed up by science, of which I have given examples. I do not have any medical qualifications. Although ways of improving health are discussed, the main purpose of this site is to share ideas as to how to cope with daily life when living with chronic fatigue. It hopes to make life a little easier and to find ways to sustain or rediscover your identity, instead of getting lost in the quagmire of ill health, and to find some happiness & fulfillment rather than loosing yourself to depression and hopelessness.

It goes without saying that if you find yourself suddenly, seriously or continuously fatigued, your first port of call should be your doctor.

Everyone is different, and there are dozens of degrees of fatigue, therefore it’s essential that you become an expert in your own health. You know what you can and can’t do and so you should tailor advice given to your own limitations and abilities. The severity of fatigue I have suffered has varied over the years and I have tried to use my memories of these experiences to give suggestions that are appropriate to people at different ends of the spectrum. Ultimately though, you must trust in your own instincts and knowledge of your body.

Illness currently robs me of the opportunity to go out to work and so I have used advertising as a way of earning a bit of money from my work on this site. It would greatly help me if you use the links provided if you intend to buy any of the products I have mentioned. However, the integrity of this site is very important to me and as such, the promotion of products is secondary to the information it provides. I very much want my writing to be a source of support to people in a similar situation to myself and believe that through sharing experiences it’s possible to give hope to those who may feel like giving up. I will never advertise products that I don’t have faith in. If you choose to use the links to products when making purchases, it helps me to continue running the site and is very much appreciated.

Warm wishes,

L.J.
